Social Media has become an integral part of everyone’s lives. It has become a fashion to share your thoughts and life updates with the world ever since the Internet took over the world. What makes the social media platform even more addictive is the fact that the fans can connect with their favourite celebrities and see what they’re up to. Indian cricketers also actively share their thoughts with their fans on various social media platforms.

Recently, star all-rounder, Rahul Tewatia vented out his frustration on Twitter after not being included in the India’ squad for the upcoming tour of Ireland. For the unversed, India are set to play 2 T20Is against Ireland on 26th and 28th June 2022.

Following the snub, Tewatia tweeted “Expectation hurts” along with two sad emojis. The tweet got viral as support poured in for Tewatia from fans all across the world.

Commenting on the incident, former South African Captain Graeme Smith has advised Tewatia to focus on improving his game instead of venting out his frustration on Twitter.

Speaking to Star Sports, Smith explained that the selectors, coaches and captains are selecting the team keeping the Australian conditions in mind where this year’s 20-20 World Cup will be played. He further advised Tewatia to channel his frustration towards performing even better so that nobody could keep him out of the team next time.

Smith said, “It’s very difficult in India as you guys have so much talent. And coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma must have picked their majority of guys anticipating the conditions in Australia. I would say instead of Twitter, focus, perform and next time your time comes make sure no one can leave you out.”

Team India will face Ireland in a two-match T20 series, starting 26th June. Both the matches will be played in Dublin. Hardik Pandya is set to lead the team in the absence of senior players and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be the vice-captain for the series.

Tewatia has been making a strong statement for his selection in the Indian team with his stupendous ability to finish game showcased in the Indian T20 league. The southpaw scored 217 runs for Gujarat in this year’s edition at an average of over 30 and a staggering strike rate of close to 150.
