In a thrilling encounter at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, India and Australia battled it out in the 2nd T20I, delivering a spectacle that lived up to the anticipation generated by their previous last-ball thriller in Visakhapatnam.

Yashasvi Jaiswal set the tone early, dismantling the Aussie attack with a scintillating knock of 53 off just 25 balls, featuring 9 fours and 2 sixes. His blitzkrieg propelled India to a commanding score of 77 by the end of the 6th over. Ruturaj Gaikwad, taking over as the anchor, contributed a steady 58 off 43 balls, while Ishan Kishantook the reins from Jaiswal, scoring a quickfire 52 runs in 32 balls, including 3 fours and 4 towering sixes.

Captain Surya Kumar Yadav joined the run-fest with a cameo of 19 runs off 10 balls, hitting 2 sixes before getting dismissed. The finishing touches were provided by the emerging talent, Rinku Singh, who smashed 31 runs off just 9 deliveries, featuring 4 boundaries and 2 sixes. India posted a formidable total of 235 runs, breaking the 200-run barrier on a pitch known for its challenges.
Australia, faced with the daunting task of chasing down the massive target, began their innings with Steve Smith and Matt Short providing some resistance. However, the Indian bowlers found success, with Prasidh Krishna and Ravi Bishnoi each claiming three wickets. Marcus Stoinis stood out with a valiant effort, scoring 45 off 25 balls, and Tim David contributed 37 off 22 balls.
Despite the efforts of Stoinis and David, Australia fell short as India’s bowlers maintained control. Captain Matthew Wade, coming in to steady the ship, remained unbeaten till the end, but the required run rate proved insurmountable. All Indian bowlers chipped in with wickets, securing a convincing 44-run victory for India.
