The Indian team will take on Zimbabwe in the Second ODI of the three-match series on 20th August 2022 at the Harare Sports Club, starting at 12:45 PM (IST). Zimbabwe will not want a repeat of the lacklustre performance they displayed in the first ODI and will want to make amends in the Second ODI

The Indian team will be riding high after producing a superlative all-round performance with the bat, ball and on the field in the first game. Deepak Chahar looked good in his comeback match, he picked 3 scalps, and so did Prasidh Krishna and Axar Patel. The bowling looks good and the batting flourished with a solid opening partnership between Dhawan and Gill.

Predicted Playing XI: KL Rahul (c), Shikhar Dhawan (vc),  Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Prasidh Krishna, Mohd Siraj, Deepak Chahar

The Zimbabwe team will want to quickly fix their top order woes and come back fresh for the Second ODI. They, of course, will look to take heart from the 70-run stand between Brad Evans and Ngarva in the first match. The hosts will look to start better with the ball up front and will look to put India under pressure straight away.

Predicted Playing XI: Regis Chakabva (c), Tadiwanshe Marumani, Bradley Evans, Luke Jongwe, Ryan Burl, Innocent Kaia, Wesley Madhevere,   Richard Ngarava, Victor Nyauchi, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Harare has traditionally been a batter’s paradise as teams have scored over 300 runs 17 times at this venue. The captain winning the toss will be making full use of the good batting conditions on offer and will look to put up a huge total on the board to put the opposing team on the back foot.
