Amidst an intense debate surrounding cricketing relations between India and Pakistan, Asian Cricket Council’s president Jay Shah has revealed the 2023-24 calender for Asian cricket.
The new season will begin with Men’s 50-over Challenger Cup in February followed by Men’s Under-16 Regional tournament, Men’s Premier Cup, Women’s T20 Emerging Team Asia Cup and others.
The 2023 calendar will conclude with Men’s U-19 Aisa Cup in December. The main attraction of the calender however would certainly be the Men’s Asia Cup scheduled for September. India has already declined to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 due to the political differences between the two countries.
Jay Shah has now thrown another curve ball by putting India and Pakistan in the same group for Asia Cup 2023.
Here’s Jay Shah’s Tweet:

Earlier, the former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman had lashed out at Indian Cricket Board for their decision to not travel to Pakistan.
“What is leadership? When Asian Cricket Council has asked Pakistan to host a tournament and then India says they won’t travel to Pakistan and shift the tournament to a neutral venue, what should be the response? Kya hum sab servant rahenge India ke, kyunki woh ek world power hain apne hisab se. Kya hum har cheez unki mante jayenge?” (Are we servants of India just because they are a world power in cricket? Should we listen to everything they say?” Raja had said as quoted by WION.
“The Pakistan cricket team is enjoying a great run; you have a good fan following; you have superstars, so please give your team and fans the respect they deserve. There should be a decision on the matter, as the tournament was given to Pakistan, so how can it be shifted to a neutral venue without consulting us or the ACC members,” he added.
Ramiz Raja has since then been removed from PCB’s chairman position and is now lashing out at Najam Sethi and the board for his unceremonious exit.
