Sachin Tendulkar has been one of the greatest cricketers in the game he has scored 18, 426 runs in the 50-over format. He has played 463 matches at an average of 44.83 and at a strike rate of 86.23. The little master has scored 49 hundreds in ODI cricket. He was also the first one to score a double-hundred in ODIs in Men’s cricket.
Virat Kohli has taken the baton from Tendulkar after he had retired from cricket in 2013. The former India captain has been in good form and has recently broken into the top five run getters in ODIs. Kohli mentioned in an interaction that Sir Vivan Richards from West Indies and Tendulkar as the two ‘GOAT’S’. They completely changed the game in their generation. Sachin is my hero. Kohli added.
Kohli has scored 12,898 runs in the 50 over format. He had an average of 57.32 and at a strike rate of 93.62. The star India batter has scored 46 hundreds and 65 fifties. Kohli’s most famous innings in ODIs, came at Hobart in Australia where he scored 133 and helped India chase down a target of 340 in a batting paradise at the Bellerive Oval. In that game, Kohli spared no one. Lasith Malinga was taken to the cleaners as he gave away 96 runs in his 10 overs in that game.
The other big knock came in the Asia Cup at Bangladesh where Kohli scored 183 at the Shrer-e Bangla Stadium at Mirpur in Dhaka. Pakistan scored 329-6 in their 50 overs. In the second innings, the India reply was led by Virat Kohli. Mohammad Hafeez scored 105 off 113 balls. Nasir Jamshed scored 112 off 104 balls. In reply, Tendulkar scored a fine 52 off 48 balls with five fours and one six. Kohli scorched the Pakistan bowlers to all parts of the ground.
He made a cracking 183 off 148 balls with 22 fours and one six. Rohit Sharma made 68 off 83 balls with five fours and one six. Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni got the job done. Dhoni smashed the winning four for India as The Men in Blue finished on 330-4. India beat their arch-rivals in the high-scoring encounter.
