India have had some favourable news on the fitness of all three of the national team’s first-choice players, who are now out injured, with less than 100 days until the World Cup in October-November. At Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer are presently receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

According to The Indian Express, Bumrah, as well as Rahul, are expected to be available for consideration for the Asia Cup, which will be played in September, assuming their recuperation goes as planned. Sanju Samson, along with Suryakumar Yadav, are being considered by India as backups because Iyer has not yet recovered.

Return dates for Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul

Bumrah, who underwent surgery on his back in March, is said to have already begun bowling within the NCA nets, and his recovery is said to be going well thus far. There is a chance that the pacer will be ready for the World Cup in time for India’s visit for a two-match T20I series to Ireland in August, although the Indian team management and medical staff are not in the mood to rush.

The 29-year-old hasn’t participated in any professional cricket since last September because of a recurrent back issue. Bumrah was instructed to have surgery to treat his back-stress reaction when the injury occurred during the home campaign in January, and after finishing his recovery will gradually boost his bowling workload.

Regarding Rahul, he is currently engaged in physical therapy after having surgery for a right thigh injury sustained in the second half of the IPL in May. Rahul, who has been India’s standout batter in the ODI team at No. 5 and is being considered the first-choice wicketkeeper batter for the World Cup, is expected to start his skill-based training by mid-July as long as his rehabilitation goes according to plan.

The 31-year-old has a good chance of being prepared for the T20Is versus Ireland, which are scheduled to start on August 18 and conclude on August 23. India has not set a return date, similar to Bumrah since the World Cup continues to take importance.
