The 25th match of theย Hundred 2022 took place between Trent Rockets and Southern Brave. The match was played at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, where Southern Brave won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Trent Rockets took the first strike. Alex Hales and Dawid Malan walked out to open the batting. Hales’s stay was short-lived as he perished to Paul Sterling in just his 7th ball.
The other contributor was Samit Patel who scored 21 in 15 deliveries, it was a quick cameo that contained 2 sixes. Colin Munro walked out to bat at number six he scored a 16-ball 10 which contained a boundary and a maximum. The others did not have a good outing with the bat.
The Trent Rockets did manage to score 138 in their allotted hundred balls for the loss of 6 wickets. This was due to a fine inning by Dawid Malan, The left-hander was in free-flowing form and played a good knock of 59 which came in just 41 balls.
The Brave bowlers functioned like a well-oiled unit to keep the Rockets down to a low score, M Hogan and James Fuller picked up 2 wickets each in their respective spells. Paul Sterling was very good in his 15-ball spell as well, giving away just 10 runs and picking the big wicket of Alex Hales. J Lintott took a wicket as well but he was very expensive in his 20-ball spell which cost 48 runs.
In the second innings, There was not a lot to do for Southern Brave as Quinton De Kock had given a good start to the Southern Brave he scored 24 of 23 balls which had 2 fours and 1 six. Paul Sterling though was dismissed very early on by Sam Cook. James Vince got out to a first ball duck coming in at number 3 to Luke Wood.
There were valuable contributions in the middle order by Alex Davies, who scored a patient half-century which had only a six and a four. Ross Whiteley and Tim David did the finishing touches by scoring 30 in 21 balls and 19 in just 6 deliveries to ensure that the Brave finished the chase in 95 balls. The Southern Brave have recorded a comprehensive win over the Trent Rockets in this match.

Any notion that those who attend The Hundred wonโt get behind/support a team is a load of rubbish. After experiencing it for the first time this season, that was spine tingling towards the end as Brave closed in #TheHundred
