India has been one of the most successful teams in T20 Internationals. The men in blue became the first team to win the T20 World Cup in the year 2007. The success of the tournament gave birth to the Indian Premier League in 2008, which in turn became responsible for the birth of other T20 leagues across the world. The success of the Indian team has been impactful in the cricket world.

India also has the second most number of T20I wins for a team. With 127 wins in 199 matches, India is second in the list behind Pakistan, who have 134 wins in the format. The first T20I against the West Indies in Trinidad will be India’s 200th appearance in the format. India will become only the second team after Pakistan to play 200 T20I matches.

As a big milestone awaits the Indian team, two of its biggest stars in the format will not be playing for India in its 200th match. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not in the Indian T20 squad against West Indies. In fact, the two senior players have not been in any Indian T20I squad after the completion of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

The two individuals have a lot of records for the Indian team. Virat Kohli has the most runs (4008), the highest batting average (52.74), the most fifties (37), most fifty-plus scores (38), most fours (356), most runs in the T20 World Cup and the most runs in the Asia Cup for India in the game’s shortest format. These are phenomenal achievements for a player.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma also has many records for India in T20Is. The 36-year-old has the most hundreds (4), most sixes (182) and the most appearances (148) for India in the 20-overs format. In the 200th match of India, the men in blue will surely miss the services of two of their best batters over the years.
