From Kangana Ranaut to Bipasha Basu, celebrities slam Poonam Panday for faking death to gain publicity!

Actor-model Poonam Pandey reappeared on social media a day after her team claimed she had died of cervical cancer, to the dismay of several celebrities, including Mandira Bedi, Mini Mathur, Bipasha Basu, and Kangana Ranaut. On Friday, Poonam Pandey’s team announced that she had passed away from the illness; however, on Saturday, she uploaded her videos and declared herself to be “alive”.

In a video that she released, Poonam declared, “I am alive. Cervical cancer did not claim my life. Regretfully, I am unable to make that statement regarding the countless numbers of women who have lost their lives to cervical cancer.” Poonam apologised for the stunt in a follow-up video and stated that her goal was to raise awareness of the illness. She said, “I apologise for causing this tear to fall and for hurting people. My goal is to bring everyone’s attention to the fact that there isn’t enough discussion about cervical cancer. There was a ‘greater purpose’ behind the news of her passing.”

Poonam Panday gets slammed:

Celebrities viciously attacked actor Poonam on Saturday for fabricating her death and disparaging a worthy cause. Posting Poonam’s video on X, Vivek Agnihotri stated, “Actually, it was a marketing campaign for @thehauterrfly. Look for the logo in the upper right corner and the end. How pitiful and how sinister.” Kangana Ranaut responded to the post with the word “Agree.”

In response to the post, Bipasha Basu expressed, “It goes beyond pitiful actions. Not just this individual, but the PR team behind this should also feel embarrassed.” On her Instagram Stories, Tahira Kashyap posted, “Today was the lowest of lows. alternating feelings of shock, disbelief, anger, and trigger. What are we developing into? How significant is a breaking story? For what price? So offended by the cheesy publicity gimmick. Ignoring the name merely because the individual is unworthy of any significance at all.”

Along with the celebrities, the netizens are also furious at Poonam Panday. Everyone is condemning her for her cheap publicity stunt. Even legal action has been taken against the actress for spreading fake death.
