In the Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants game, the eliminator game, on Wednesday night, MI will be attempting to maintain their position in the running for the final spot in the 2023 Indian Premier League. On the last day of the league phase, MI had suddenly locked up a spot in the playoffs; after they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their final league game, Royal Challengers Bangalore, who were also vying for a playoff spot, lost to Gujarat Titans.

Meanwhile, the fans of MI had been alarmed by Rohit Sharma’s performance. Rohit has amassed 313 runs in 14 games so far in the current edition; despite a slow start to the campaign, Rohit’s recent efforts have given fans hope for the opener’s return to run-scoring. Rohit produced a quickfire 56 from just 37 balls in the team’s previous match, helping MI chase home a 201-run target with two overs remaining.

What did Murali Karthik say about Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma?

Murali Kartik, a former India spinner, made a significant statement about Rohit Sharma’s batting before MI’s eliminator match against LSG. Kartik said he would never accept the idea that Rohit might be “out of form.”

Karthik while speaking to Cricbuzz spoke about Rohit Sharma. He said, “I’ll never admit that Rohit Sharma can go out of form. I’ve said this thousand times, it never looks like that. He can hit a six on the first ball… he isn’t out of form, he is out of runs. The way he thinks is wrong, his approach is wrong. He was scoring runs, so he’s not out of form.”

The former Indian team spinner spoke about how Rohit Sharma guides his team and backs him to score in the big games. He said, “He has a presence. He is the captain, and he has an aura. He commands his men, he is a leader. Every captain makes mistakes, yesterday we saw Hardik Pandya committing mistakes as well — maybe Ashish Nehra and Hardik Pandya were thinking differently. Likewise, Rohit can also make mistakes, but the post that he commands is different. Okay, he has scored 313 runs, but some players perform in big games.”
