India were 1-2 down in the five-match ODI series against the Proteas at home in 2015. After having a quiet year with the bat by his standards, Kohli rose to the occasion and brought up his first-ever hundred against South Africa in ODI cricket. He took South Africa to 299 with his 138. India ended up winning the match by 35 runs and levelled the series 2-2. This was just his second and last hundred in the year 2015 in ODIs where he averaged a below-par 36.64.
