India did not end the T20I series on a high note. They lost the 5th T20I at  Lauderhill by 8 wickets. The batting did not click for the Men in Blue as they scored just 165-9 in their 20 overs. In reply, India were mauled by the West Indies batters as Brandon King smashed an unbeaten 85 runs off 55 balls with five fours and six sixes. West Indies brushed off India’s target in 18 overs and took the series 3-2. The fans were very disappointed with India’s performance.

One among them was Venkatesh Prasad, who thundered at India’s dismal performance in a tweet saying,  India needs to improve their skillset. There is a hunger & intensity deficiency & often the captain looked clueless. Bowlers cannot bat, batsmen can’t bowl. It’s important to not look for yes men and be blinded because someone is your favourite player but look at the larger good. Based on the Indian team’s performance in the past year, the fans don’t have high hopes of the Indian Team making it to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Here is the tweet:

India lost the 5-match T20I series 3-2  to West Indies

India were handed their first bilateral series defeat in T20Is since they lost to Sri Lanka 2-1 in 2021. India won 11 out of 12 series barring a 2-2 draw against South Africa in 2022. India had big issues when it came to the T20I format, the batting lineup lacked depth. The bowling lineup lacked variety as India does not have part-time bowling options in their arsenal.

India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said that Tilak Varma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are being looked at as part-time bowling options but Wasim Jaffer quashed the idea saying that the two can be groomed in the long term, but as of now, they are not fit to bowl at the international level. Constant chopping and changing have not helped the Indian side either.

When it comes to the bowling front it looks a little thin with Yuzvendra Chahal not being at his potent best. Hardik Pandya also put up a lacklustre show with the ball. India also lost the second ODI due to a below-par batting performance in the West Indies.  The Men in Blue also lost an ODI series at home to Australia 2-1.
