India has not had a chance to lift the silverware. It has not won a World Cup trophy to date. India’s last top 5 finish at a Hockey World Cup was way back in 1982. India will be looking to break the jinx in home conditions.

Under the mentorship of Graham Ried, they have had good outings coming into the World Cup with a bronze medal at the Asia Cup and also at the Olympic games in Tokyo. Then they bagged a silver at the Commonwealth Games in London. The side which is led by Harmanpreet Singh will be looking to get their hands on a World Cup title having had a wonderful history in the sport.
