The FIFA World Cup 2022 kicked off on November 20 between Qatar and Ecuador, with the match going in favour of the latter and since then, it has been a roller coaster ride as teams like Saudi Arabia, Japan managed to defeat top-ranked teams. As things stand, Serbia and Switzerland locked horns in the Group G match and both teams tried their level best to come up with the win in the world’s biggest sporting event.

To add more to the first half, both teams managed to score 2 goals apiece and the match remained equally poised at the end of the half. Concerning the goals, it was Xherdan Shaqiri who opened the proceedings for Rossocrociati in the 20th minute. Eventually, Aleksandar Mitrović matched the lead in the 26th minute and Dušan Vlahović backed him up to put the Serbian side on the front foot. While fans opined that the match was well within Serbia’s hands, Breel Embolo made a stunning comeback and matched the lead for Switzerland, as both teams remained at 2-2 in the first half.

Remo Freuler produced the lead for the Switzerland team in the 48th minute and the momentum shifted in his team’s favour, yet again. Post the goal, Serbia’s confidence level stopped to a new low and they struggled to match the intent shown by the Rossocrociati.

Cameroon crash out of FIFA World Cup 2022

Brazil and Cameroon faced off against each other in the other Group G match and the former are already in the Round of 16 stage. It was all about Cameroon and much to the delight of the fans, they showed great resilience and grit, as they refrained from conceding a goal to Brazil. The Indomitable Lions were thriving to pull off the much-needed win, given that there were other two teams as well fighting to seal a berth in the Round of 16 stage.

Vincent Aboubakar, the star player from the Indomitable lions, scored the lead for Cameroon in the extra time past the 90th minute and eventually helped his team clinch the win. However, on the back of flaunting lesser points than Switzerland, Cameroon eventually bowed out of the tournament.
