In the semi-final of the Under 19 World Cup India won against South Africa by two wickets. As batting first South Africa U19 team set a target of 245 runs to chase down India. The chase wasn’t easy for India as they were 32 for 4 in just 11.2 overs.

As Indian U19 captain Uday Saharan stepped in and scored 81 runs from 124 balls and Sachin Dhas scored 96 runs from 95 balls. For the fifth wicket, they both shared a partnership of 171 runs from 187 balls. Due to this partnership, they stabilised the innings as India won the booked their place into another final of the U19 World Cup.

Sachin Dhas scored 96 runs from 95 balls which include 11 fours and 1 six. Sachin Dhas missed his second consecutive century in the U19 World Cup. Against Nepal in the group stage, he smashed 116 runs from just 101 balls. Sachin Dhas has scored 294 runs he is now the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament. His average is 73.50 and his strike rate of 116.66. After playing a match-winning knock for India he will be eager to play in the final on Sunday 11th February.

All about Sachin Dhas’s family

Sachin Dhas is from Beed district, Maharashtra and has left cricket fans in awe. His six-hitting ability has been witnessed in the U-19 tournament in Pune.

Sachin Dhas’ father Sanjay Dhas named him after India star batter Sachin Tendulkar. Sunil Gavaskar is also second favourite cricketer of his father. In conversation with Indian Express, Sachin Dhas’s father Sanjay Dhas had played cricket at the university level had planned for his son to be a cricketer even before he was born.

To train Sachin his father had borrowed money to prepare turf wicket. But due to water problems in Beed, he used to keep the wicket fresh. He used to call water tanker every second or third day and acknowledge his coach Azhar who worked effortlessly to make him a talented batter. Surekha Dhas who is Sachin Dhas’ mother is an Assistant Police Inspector in Maharashtra. She was also a Kabaddi Player. While Sachin Dhas’s sister Pratiksha is studying in Pune for UPSC exams.
