Earlier, in the game, India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted for bowling first. His decision didn’t go well with the team, as opener Ibrahim Zadran and wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz added 50 runs for the first wicket. Gurbaz, in his innings, scored 23 runs, while Zadran scored 22 runs. They were soon dismissed by Axar Patel and Shivam Dube, respectively.

In the middle overs, all-rounder Mohammed Nabi scored 42 runs and 27 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes. He, along with Azmatullah, added 68 runs for the fourth wicket. In the end, Afghanistan finished with 158 runs in 20 overs. For India, Mukesh Kumar and Axar Patel took two wickets each, while Shivam Dube took a wicket too.

Shivam Dube continues to impress with the bat

Chasing a competitive total, India had a poor start as skipper Rohit Sharma got a run-out for a two-ball duck. After his departure, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube added 44 runs for the third wicket. Varma, in his inning, scored 26 runs off 22 balls with the help of two fours and a six. Meanwhile, Dube continued to hammer the opposition bowling attack as he finished the game with two consecutive boundaries.

Dube in his innings scored unbeaten 60 runs off 40 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. A cameo from Rinku Singh (19 runs) helped India win the game by 6 wickets. With this victory, the team is set to seal the series in the next game at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on January 14.
