Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been one of the most successful captains in the history of Indian Cricket. He won a 20-20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa, a 50-over World Cup in 2011 in India and a Champions Trophy in 2013 in England. He has scored 10,773 runs in ODIs in 350 matches at an average of 50.57 and a strike rate of 87.56. His highest score was 183 which came against Sri Lanka.
In T20Is, he has scored 1617 runs at an average of 37.60 and a strike rate of 126.13. His highest score in this format is 56. In the T20s, he has led the Chennai franchise to four titles in the greatest T20 League on planet earth.
He has scored 4978 runs in the Indian T20 League at an average of 39.19 and a strike rate of 135.19. He has scored 24 half-centuries for Chennai in the league and has been with the franchise since the inaugural edition in 2008.
A picture of MS Dhoni practicing two months before the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League has surfaced on social media. MS Dhoni is seen batting in the nets in that picture. He is seen wearing the bright yellow pads of Chennai while doing the net session. With his captaincy in the Indian T20 League, he has made Chennai one of the most consistent sides in the tournament.

In 20220, Chennai suffered a blip in form when the tournament was shifted out of India during the Covid-19 pandemic. They finished the tournament in 7th position with six wins and eight losses. They then stormed back in 2021 to win their fourth title. In 2022, there was a change in captaincy with Ravindra Jadeja taking over from MS Dhoni for eight matches. Chennai did not do well in this edition either as they finished in 9th position when the tournament ended.
They finished in 9th position with eight points after winning four games and losing ten. Dhoni took over the captaincy of the side from Jadeja after eight games but there was no difference in fortunes. Dhoni will be looking to sign off on a good note with a strong season in what will be his last Indian T20 League season in 2023. Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter.
