Hughes was a popular cricketer for his time, known to a handful of fans of cricket. The former Australian cricketer played 26 Test matches, 25 ODI matches, and a T20I match in international cricket. The Southpaw scored 1535 runs in Tests and 826 runs in ODIs. The Macksville-born cricketer had 5 hundred to his name in international cricket. While playing a Sheffield Shield match at the SCG, Hughes was hit on his neck by Sean Abbott. On the 27th of November in 2014, the opener died.
