India is likely to play all three spinners against Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023. On a spin-friendly track in Chennai, India is set to play all three spinners – Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav against Australia. MA Chidambaram Stadium has historically been a spin-friendly track. The decision of India seems obvious given the nature of the wicket.
India got Ashwin in the squad as a replacement for Axar Patel. The move might be helpful for India in their first match of the World Cup campaign in Chennai. Ashwin has the experience of playing in Chennai. The experienced bowler can be handy against the left-handers in the Australian lineup and can pick the wickets of the right-handers as well.
Jadeja will play in the team as a left-arm off-spinner. The batting of Jadeja has been a big concern for the Indian team. As a finisher, Jadeja has turned out to be not so reliable. But as a bowler, Jadeja can be handy in Chennai. The spinner has played a lot at the venue, particularly for his IPL team, Chennai Super Kings. Jadeja will be in the team as the designated All-rounder.

Kuldeep Yadav will be the key spinner in the Indian team. The chinaman spinner has been one of the best Indian bowlers in recent times. In the Asia Cup 2023, Kuldeep was the leading wicket-taker for India and ended up becoming the Player of the Tournament. Kuldeep is a wicket-taking bowler and is recently economical as well.
Together, the attack can pose a difficult challenge to the Australian lineup. On a slow deck like the ones in Chennai, these three will be of three different types. Kuldeep will be the left-arm unorthodox spinner, who can turn the ball either way. Jadeja can be effective with his left arm-off spin. Ashwin will be key with his off-spin and also possesses the carrom ball that turns away from the right-handers.
