India and Australia are all set to lock horns in the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Star Australian batter Steve Smith will be returning as the skipper of Australia after Pat Cummins returned home due to his mother’s illness. It will be the third time Smith will lead the Aussies since Cummins took over.

Australia will be looking to put on a tough fight after losing the first two games in Nagpur and Delhi. It was under Smith’s captaincy, Australia registered a famous win in Pune by 333 runs in 2017. He was also adjudged Player of the match for his tremendous century in the second inning.

Smith hasn’t done something remarkable in the ongoing series and seemed struggling against the turn. Now, he also has a responsibility to lead the side and turn the fortunes for the visitors. The main challenge for him will be to select the playing XI for the Indore Test, as David Warner, Ashton Agar, Josh Hazlewood, and Matt Renshaw also flew back to Australia due to various reasons.

Ashwin-Jadeja have been key players in India’s victory

India, on the other hand, will be looking to clinch the series with another victory and secure a spot in the final of the Test Championship. Rohit Sharma’s side has shown sheer dominance against the number one Test team in the ongoing series so far. The spin twins, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been the key players for the hosts in a series so far. The duo has scalped 32 together from four innings in the two matches.

The third Test will be starting on March 1 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. After the Tests, both the teams will lock horns in the upcoming three-match ODI series starting from March 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The next two matches will be hosted by Vizag and Chennai respectively.
