‘Buddy, Aapke father aayein hai…’ – Fans troll Pakistani journalist for calling Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi ‘best pace bowling duo’ in limited-overs cricket

The Pakistan Cricket team is set to face Afghanistan in a three-match ODI series starting today. Ahead of the prestigious Asia Cup, both teams will look to fine-tune their preparations. Meanwhile, Pakistani journalist Farid Khan is being brutally trolled on social media. Khan posted a picture of pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi and asked fans to name a better-pace bowling duo than them.

This comparison did not go well with the fans, as he was trolled by Pakistani fans themselves. Fans fumed at him as they recalled players like Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, and others. Meanwhile, Indian fans also positioned Indian pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who are currently dominating around the globe. It is worth noting that both Afridi and Rauf will be part of Pakistan’s Asia Cup squad. The team will hope for a great performance from them in the upcoming months.

Pakistan is set to host the Asia Cup in a hybrid model starting August 30. In the opening game, the hosts will face Nepal at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan on August 30. Meanwhile, the fans will be waiting for the iconic India vs. Pakistan game, which will take place at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on September 2. This year, India and Pakistan are placed in Group A along with Nepal. Meanwhile, the other three Asian giants—Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh—are placed in Group B.

India announced the Asia Cup squad on Monday

On Monday, August 21, India announced their 17-member Asia Cup squad. The team has picked five pacers and three spinners for the upcoming tournament. Ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, along with Mohammed Shami, Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Prasidh Krishna, will be leading the bowling department. Meanwhile, spinner Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin department along with Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

The Indian team has also been relieved as star batter Shreyas Iyer and wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul are set to make a comeback. Iyer has been declared fit by the NCA, while Rahul is still carrying a niggle. The team hopes that he recovers soon; however, they have picked Sanju Samson as a backup and might field him if it prolongs. In the upcoming months, India and Pakistan might face each other at least three and a maximum of five times. This will ensure a high-voltage cricket experience for fans.
