‘Bhai punjab jayda mat udd’ – Fans react as Punjab Kings post a set of broken stumps while training ahead of MI game in IPL 2023

The social media battle continues between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. Ahead of the two teams clashing at Mohali, the PBKS social media administrator uploaded an image of a set of shattered stumps with the caption, “Leaked training image!”. The image showed the off stump and the leg stump present without the bails and the middle stump was not to be seen. When this image was uploaded, there were a lot of reactions from fans.

When MI and PBKS locked horns last time at the Wankhede Stadium, Arshdeep Singh made the headlines when he disrupted the stumps twice while bowling the last over. He did this to the duo of Tilak Varma and Nehal Vadhera. When Arshdeep succeeded in his attempt, he was hailed for this wonderful feat by a number of cricketers. The stumps that Arshdeep broke were estimated to be worth between 24 to 30 Lakh INR. Now, the PBKS social media admin has added fuel to the fire with the recent tweet.

Punjab Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 13 runs when they played at the Wankhede

When PBKS and MI met at the Wankhede, it was a real high-scoring thriller, PBKS were 83-4 at one stage. Then Sam Curran and Harpreet Singh Bhatia brought PBKS back into the game.  Curran made a cracking 55 off 29 balls with five fours and four sixes. Bhatia made 41 off 28 balls with four fours and two sixes. Jitesh Sharma came down the order and played a heroic innings of 25 off 7 balls. He hit four sixes in his stunning cameo.

PBKS made 214-8 in their 20 overs. In the second innings, MI did not back down easily either, Cameron Green made 67 off 43 balls with six fours and three sixes. Suryakumar Yadav came in and lit up the stadium with a dazzling 57 off 26 balls with seven fours and three sixes. Tim David also made an unbeaten 25 off 13 balls with two sixes but it was not enough as PBKS won the match by 13 runs.

Nathan Ellis and Arshdeep bowled beautifully in the death overs. Arshdeep picked up 4-29 in a wonderful four-over bowling spell. It was a very close contest and PBKS won the game between the skin of their teeth. Now they will face off against each other at Mohali on Wednesday.
