Gujarat have been hit with a blow after they won the first game against Chennai. According to reports, Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the Indian T20 League 2023. The New Zealander hurt his knee badly while fielding in the deep. This happened while trying to take a catch to dismiss Ruturaj Gaikwad who scored 92 off 50 balls with nine fours and four sixes.
The injury problem happened to Gujarat in the Women’s T20 League. Beth Mooney was ruled out of the tournament for Gujarat due to injury. The incident happened in the third ball of the 12th over. Gaikwad was hitting it to all parts of the ground. He played a stellar knock of 92 off 50 balls with four fours and nine sixes. In the 12th over, Joshua Little bowled a slower ball and Gaikwad hit it across the line. The ball flew to Williamson who caught the ball back in with a perfect jump.

But a mishap happened. When he landed after catching the ball, he hurt his right knee and was in a lot of pain. If Williamson is injured, then this will be a big loss for Gujarat in the tournament. The franchise brought in the New Zealander to play the anchor role. And now, without his services, the franchise will have a lot of thinking to do about his replacement.
In the game against Chennai, Sai Sudharsan was used as the impact player in place of Kane Williamson. Sudharsan was the second impact player in the game. Tushar Deshpande was the first impact player in the Indian T20 League. He came in for Ambati Rayudu. Chennai scored 178-7 in their 20 overs. Gaikwad scored 92 off 50 balls for Chennai.
In the second innings, Shubman Gill was the star for Gujarat. The Punjab batter scored 63 off 36 balls. He hit six fours and three sixes in his innings. Rahul Tehwatia and Rashid Khan finished the game off for Gujarat in the 20th over of the match. Gujarat won by 5 wickets.
It cd be blessing in disguise for Gujrat as Sai Sudarshan is in good form, also now they can have like of explosive Matthew wade either at opening or even in middle order.

Played one match..so he ll get full payment for the season..that is the rule..am i right..but it is sad that we will miss his batting and fielding skills in this edition #IPL2023
