‘Bass karo Perez, kitna rulaoge?’ – Fans react as Karim Benzema and Real Madrid confirms player’s exit at the end of season

Karim Benzema captained the side in his final season (2022-23) and led them to three major trophies.

Karim Benzema will leave Real Madrid at the conclusion of this season, the club has officially stated. The 35-year-old had an outstanding career at the Santiago Bernabeu, and his final match in the white shirt will be against Athletic Bilbao. After this current season, Benzema’s contract expires, and he will now say goodbye to the team in the season’s last La Liga match.

There have been rumours about his impending future because it has been said that a Saudi Arabian club has made him a sizable offer. Although his next move is yet unknown, Los Blancos released a statement confirming his departure from the team. He captained the side in his final season and led them to three major trophies – the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and the Copa del Rey.

Karim Benzema won 25 major titles with Real Madrid in 14 seasons

“Real Madrid CF and our captain Karim Benzema have agreed to end his brilliant and unforgettable period as a player for our club. “Real Madrid wants to show its gratitude and all its affection for who is already one of our greatest legends.

“Karim Benzema arrived at our club in 2009, at just 21 years of age, and has been a fundamental player in this golden age of our history. During the fourteen seasons in which he has defended our shield and our shirt, he has won 25 titles, a record number for Real Madrid: 5 European Cups, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 4 Leagues, 3 Copas del Rey and 4 Spanish Super Cups,” the club said in an official statement.

ESPN claimed earlier this week that Benzema had been given the same two-year, €400 million contract as Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr after leaving Manchester United, to transfer to Saudi Arabia in January. The center-forward decided to take on a new challenge rather than continue playing for Madrid for one more season until June 2024 as had been anticipated. He will play his final game as a Madridista on Sunday, June 4 against the Athletic Club at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
