Amir acknowledged Babar’s excellence as a batsman in Test matches and ODIs, remarking, “I have always said that he is a great batter in Tests and ODIs.” However, he expressed a different opinion

n regarding Babar’s performance in T20s. As a bowler, Amir did not perceive Babar as a threatening player in the T20 format, stating, “As a bowler, I don’t see Babar as threatening in the T20 format.”

Every wicket counts – Amir

Amir took the opportunity to clarify his intentions through his YouTube channel, responding to critics who misunderstood his earlier comments. He emphasized that he had never referred to Babar as an average player or a tailender. In fact, he had consistently praised Babar as the best batsman of Pakistan in his previous interviews. Amir emphasized that his point was focused on the importance of taking wickets, irrespective of the batsman’s stature. He explained that every wicket, whether Babar’s or a tailender’s, holds significance for the team’s success.
