‘Bangladesh badi raddi team hai’ – Fans react as India overcomes Bangladesh in one-sided encounter to enter finals of Asian Games 2023

India defeated Bangladesh in a one-sided encounter to enter the final of the Asian Games 2023. India will face the winner of Pakistan and Afghanistan in the final of the event. On a tw0-paced wicket, the Indian captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and elected to field first. the decision of Gaikwad was proven right, as the Indian bowling attack bowled extremely well and restricted Bangladesh to a low total.

All the Indian bowlers bowled well. Right from the start, the Indian pacers contained Bangladesh for a low score. Arshdeep Singh bowled 3 overs, conceded only 10 runs and claimed a wicket. Washington Sundar was impressive as a bowler. The right-arm off-spinner bowled four overs, conceded only 15 runs and claimed two wickets. Ravi Bishnoi was impressive as well, who claimed a wicket in his four overs.

Tilak Varma and Shahbaz Ahmed bowled well too. The two spinners bowled two overs each, conceded only 5 and 13 runs, respectively, and claimed a wicket each. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the left-arm orthodox spinner, R Sai Kishore, who was simply brilliant. Si Kishore bowled four overs, conceded only 12 runs and claimed 3 wickets. The spell of all the bowlers meant that India restricted Bangladesh to just 96 runs.

Indian batters cruise past the target

Chasing the total, India lost the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal. After that, India just cruised in the run chase, thanks to an unbeaten 97-run stand between Tilak Varma and Ruturaj Gaikwad. On a slow wicket, Tilak played a very good innings by hitting a lot of sixes. In his stay in the middle, Varma scored 55 runs in 26 balls, which included two fours and six sixes.

Ruturaj helped Varma at the other end with an anchoring role. The Indian captain scored a good 40(26), which included four fours and three sixes. The total was not a big one, and Bangladeshi bowlers had no answers to the Indian batters. In the end, India won the match by nine wickets and with 64 balls to spare. India confirmed at least a silver medal in the event and will aim for the gold medal in the final.
