Team news

Australia

Australia put on an impressive show in India even though the lost the 20-20 series 2-1. Skipper Aaron Finch came back to form as he got amongst the runs which was a big relief to the Australian camp, but he looked in good touch even though he could not convert his starts. Cameron Green was the bright spot for Australia as he showed what he was made of. Tim David showcased his calibre as a finisher for Australia as he showed his pyrotechnics in Mohali. Australia will be looking to use the West Indies series as a dress rehearsal.

Squad

Aaron Finch (c), Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Sams, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade (wk), David Warner, Adam Zampa.

West Indies

West Indies, on the other hand, last played a T20I series in the first half of August against the New Zealand before the players played in the month-long Caribbean Premier League. A few of the top performers from the league such as Johnson Charles, and Raymon Reifer got a call-up but someone like Fabian Allen, a three-dimensional player in his own right strangely did not. The Men from the Caribbian will want to show that they have still got what it takes in the T20I format.
