The ambitious magnum opus spy universe of Yash Raj Films kick-started in 2012 with the ‘OG’ spy Tiger. The film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ starring Salman Khan struck a chord amongst the audience. Its massive success and the creative mind of Aditya Chopra gave birth to an enthralling spy universe. Currently, the spy universe consists of three mega superstars of Bollywood as the leading spies. Salman Khan as Tiger, Hrithik Roshan as Kabir in War, and Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan are currently leading the spy verse. Today, Salman Khan dropped the trailer of his upcoming film Tiger 3.

The makers of the film Tiger 3 took to their official social media handles on Monday to drop the much-awaited trailer. The trailer features Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif reprising their roles as Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger and Zoya respectively. However, the audience was left mesmerised by the Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi as the villain. The fans are calling this the villain era of the actor as he steals the spotlight in the action-packed enthralling trailer of Tiger 3. As Emraan is winning everyone playing the antagonist, let’s look at some of the most epic villains in the spy universe of YRF.

Villains of the YRF Spy Verse:

1. Multiple villains in Ek Tha Tiger (2012):

There wasn’t really a single antagonist in Ek Tha Tiger, but a number of them continued getting in the way of Tiger and Zoya’s (Katrina Kaif) progress. One of them was Samar Jai Singh as Rabinder, a former RAW agent who decided to swap sides and join the ISI, and the other was Gavie Chahal as Abrar, a section captain of the ISI.

2. Sajjad Delafrooz in Tiger Zinda Hai (2017):

Sajjad Delafrooz portrayed Abu Usman, the head of the ISC, an Iraqi terrorist organisation, in the movie Tiger Zinda Hai. The Iranian actor confessed, “Bollywood was a childhood dream, but I realised that I need to work on myself. Due to the serious Hindi language barrier, I put in over six years of work. In 2011, I quit my job as a PR manager to pursue acting.”

3. Tiger Shroff  in War (2019):

Tiger Shroff was given two roles in the movie War. He played Khalid Rahmani, a RAW agent who collaborated with Kabir (Hrithik Roshan), in his debut performance. In contrast, he portrayed Saurabh Patil, a former RAW agent who turned traitor and joined the enemy, as the adversary in the second representation. Another antagonist in War is Farid Haqqani, who is portrayed by Keith Dallison.

4. John Abraham in Pathaan (2023):

As Jim, the villain of Pathaan, John Abraham gave one of his best performances to date. Every well-known hero needs a deserving antagonist, and Jim’s character development (which includes an emotional arc of his deceased wife and child) gives meaning to his deeds. Even though Pathaan (SRK) eventually crushed Jim, we didn’t see him pass away on screen, so it’s still possible that he’ll show up in other films in the future!
