Former South African skipper AB De Villiers has named his best XI players for the just concluded ODI World Cup 2023. The 39-year-old left two huge names from the XI to leave the fans stunned and amazed.
AB De Villiers has included five Indian players in the list including his best friend Virat Kohli. Three Australian players found a mention in the team where a player each from New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka made it to the ultimate XI.
Australia won the ODI World Cup title for the 6th time as Pat Cummins and his side beat India in the final. Travis Head led the charge with a blistering century while Marnus Labuschagne scored a brilliant half-century on Sunday.
Former South African skipper AB De Villiers has named his top XI players of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. Quinton De Kock and Jasprit Bumrah missed out as the fans were taken aback at the duo not finding a mention in the top XI of the tournament.
AB De Villiers named Travis Head and Rohit Sharma as the openers of the side. The Indian skipper scored nearly 600 runs giving his team great starts during the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. At number 3 is Virat Kohli who top scored with 765 runs during the campaign to be named the player of the tournament.
Rachin Ravindra comes in at number 4 slot after the young Kiwi had an amazing breakout tournament. Shreyas Iyer has been slotted at number five after the 28-year-old Indian batter lit up the ODI World Cup 2023 with the bat. Glenn Maxwell and Ravindra Jadeja have been slotted at number 6 and 7 by AB De Villiers after the duo’s glitzy performances.
Adam Zampa is the sole spinner in the list with Mohammed Shami also being included. The 33-year-old Indian pacer finished at the top of the wicket-takers list during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. Dilshan Madushanka and Gerald Coetzee are the final two fast bowlers in the best XI of the ODI World Cup 2023 list named by AB De Villiers.
