England legendary pacer James Anderson has expressed that it’s a shame that India star batter Virat Kohli is not a part of the ongoing Test series between India and England. Virat Kohli and James Anderson have a fierce rivalry between them. So far in Test cricket James Anderson has dismissed Virat Kohli 10 times. While Virat Kohli has scored 331 runs against James Anderson. In the ongoing Test series, James Anderson has picked 8 wickets as he missed the first Test match.
Before the start of the first Test match against England in Hyderabad Virat Kohli opted out of the first two Tests citing personal reasons. Later it came that he won’t be available for the whole Test series against England. Last month Virat and Anushka Sharma gave birth to their second child, a baby boy.
In an interview with JioCinema James Anderson stated that he was looking to play against the best in the world Virat Kohli.
“Yeah, you always want to play against the best players. And it’s been a shame that he’s not been a part of the series. We have had some great battles over the years. But not just for me, I think as a team you want to play against the best in the world and he certainly is that” Anderson said on JioCinema.

Furthermore, James Anderson went on to say that England fans wouldn’t be happy if Virat Kohli played the Test series. However, James Anderson stated that he was eager to bowl at Virat Kohli as he had challenged players to bowl over the years.
“I guess English fans will be thankful he’s not playing because he’s such a quality player. But from our point of view, you want to test yourself, you want to come up against the best and he’s been someone who I’ve found really challenging to bowl at over the years and it’s a shame he’s not been playing,” Anderson added.
Even though Virat Kohli was not available for the Test India almost won the Test series in Ranchi as they took 3-1 in the Test series. The last Test match will be played in HPCA Dharamshala from 7th March onwards.
