Caribbean Premier League 2022 is turning out to be a cracker of a tournament with teams giving all they have. In match 21 of the league, Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders crossed swords against each other. Most of the game have been low-scoring and this one was no exception either.
Speaking of the first innings, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Tallawahs’ openers Brandon King and Amir Jangoo marked the crease. The team looked shaky against a fiery bowling attack as the Knight Riders’ bowlers removed the openers in no time. The Tallawahs lost four of their men inside the powerplay and managed to score only 25 runs.
Imad Wasim and Shamarh Brooks kept picking up singles to keep the scoreboard moving. However, tight bowling from Akeal Hosein prevented boundaries and restricted the opposing batters to only singles and doubles. At the end of twenty overs, Jamaica Tallawahs managed to amass only 116 runs on board with three wickets to spare. It could have been much lesser had Fabien Allen not scored a half-century for his team.
In pursuit of the target, Nicholas Pooran and Tion Webster opened the innings for the Knight Riders. However, the Tallawahs bowlers picked two wickets in two consecutive overs and brought themselves back into the game. Colin Munro, however, looked in fine touch.
His Kiwi teammate Tim Seifert joined him at the other end and provided some stellar shots. Despite losing a few quick wickets, skipper Kieron Pollard and Akeal Hosein held the fort in the middle overs. Jamaica Tallawahs lost the plot at the end overs as the Knight Riders managed to zip past the target with five balls to spare. Colin Munro turned out to be the star for Trinbago Knight Riders in a match that looked like going anywhere.

Reminder that our openers did not score a single run.
Colin Munro and Tim Seifert rescued us and Hosein and Russell did the rest.#TKRvJT— KnightRidersXtra (@KRxtra) September 18, 2022
