The 18th Match of the Caribbean Premier League kicked off between Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders, The Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and opted to bowl first. The experiment to send Tion Webster up the order for the Trinbago Knight Riders did not work as he perished for a first-ball duck. Pooran was asked to open the batting as well and he did not last long either as he was dismissed by Romario Sheperd after scoring an enterprising 15 with 2 fours and a six.
Colin Munro came in at number three and played a measured inning of 42 off 37 balls with 5 fours. Tim Seifert played a laborious inning of 27 from 35 balls, with only one boundary in it.
Andre Russell was dismissed by veteran Imran Tahir and then Siefert fell soon as well. At 107-5, it looked all doom and gloom for the Trinbago Knight Riders, but handy cameos from Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard, who made 26 and 16, hitting 4 sixes between them, helped the team. The Trinidad side lost some quick wickets in the end but posted a fighting total of 150-8.
The Guyana bowlers had a good outing as Romario Sheperd and Tabraiz Shamsi picked up 7 wickets between them and Tahir did his job by picking up the big wicket of Andre Russell.
In the second innings, the total of 150 turned out to be more than enough, as there was nothing much to write about as the Guyana Amazon Warriors could not match a disciplined bowling effort put on by the Trinbago Knight Riders. Andre Russell accounted for the wickets of Sinclair, Romario Sheperd, and Shimron Hetmyer.
Akeal Hosein picked up Klassen, Keemo Paul and Imran Tahir were also among the wickets, while Narine bowled a superb spell of 2 for 9 in his four overs accounting for Odean Smith and Colin Ingram. Dupavillon and Ravi Rampaul also picked up a wicket each. It was a superb performance from the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Sunil Narine bowled another 4-over spell without being hit for a boundary in #CPL22. He did this for the 18th time and no other bowler has done it more than 5 times.
