The second edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC), a professional cricket league featuring retired players, will get underway on November 18. The tournament be played across five cities, namely, Ranchi, Dehradun, Jammu, Vizag, and Surat. Last season, there were four teams which participated (Bhilwara Kings, India Capitals, Manipal Tigers and Gujarat Giants) in the tournament.

However, this year, the number has gone up to six with two new teams having been added to the league- Urbanrisers Hyderabad and Southern Super Stars. Some of the big names who will feature in the tournament are Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, Mohammed Kaif and Morne Morkel. Recently, announced that it is joining hands with the Indian Railways. There will be a Trophy Tour with the official silverware travelling to 17 different cities and union territories which is something that fans will enjoy.

Ravi Shastri, who is the commissioner of the tournament, spoke about how this move will promote sports. “We are proud to partner with Indian Railways and contribute to Indian sports. The game is getting bigger each day at Legends League Cricket and with more and more players joining, we must keep the fire burning and give fans the chance to witness the best competitive cricket. Legends are going to rock this season”, he said.

The Schedule

The tournament which will run till December 9 will see the six teams lock horns in a 15-match league stage followed by the playoffs which will be a 4-game event.
