India vs Australia final of the ODI World Cup 2023, is being taken place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue have scored a total of 240 runs in their 50 overs. Rohit Sharma gave India another explosive start scoring a quick-fire 47 runs. The middle-order had a challenging day while scoring runs as the pitch was difficult to bat on.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were the only batters to score fifties in the final of the mega event. Both the batters took charge when India lost two quick wickets and were struggling at 81/3. The Aussie bowling attack looked brilliant and had their homework against each player and with that strategy, they bowled in their fifty overs. Adam Zampa and Pat Cummins were economical in their spells and gave just 22 runs in between in 12-17 overs, and did not the let to score easy runs.

Kohli has scored 54 runs and built a 67-run partnership with Rahul. The latter was slow and steady and did not get a chance to take his aggressive approach and was dismissed on 66 runs of 107 balls. The former India skipper is the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 765 runs with a sensational average of 95.63.

India bowlers have a big responsibility

The Indian bowling attack has performed superbly in the tournament and they have to pick quick wickets to defend the low score. Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press conference, “Before the start of the World Cup. I had plans to play such kind of cricket. I didn’t know whether it would work or not. With little freedom, I wanted to express myself. During the England game also I changed my approach and that is what senior players do. I changed my tactics.”

He further added, “Rahul Dravid’s role has been massive, especially in terms of giving role clarity to players. It’s quite contrasting in how he played his cricket and how I play my cricket and to agree on certain things, to give us that liberty, that says a lot about him. What he has done for Indian cricket is massive and he also wants to be part of this occasion. Let’s do it for him!”
