Virat Kohli has been in good form so far in IPL 2023. The former RCB skipper has scored 330 runs in eight innings at an average of 55. Actress Ananya Pandey, on Star Sports, made a very Bold prediction. She said that Kohli will win the Orange Cap in 2023. Kohli has not been able to lead RCB to a title in his captaincy tenure but he has been one of the highest run scorers.

A lot of fans trolled Ananya Pandey and questioned her for making such a prediction. A lot of them started doubting her cricketing knowledge. Some fans said the actress might not be aware of what the Orange Cap is and some pointed out that she could be the cause of Kohli’s bad form in the upcoming games as she has jinxed it by naming him among Orange Cap contenders.

2016 was Virat Kohli’s best IPL season where he scored 973 runs for RCB

Kohli, for the Bold Army, had scored 973 runs in the 2016 season. He scored the runs in 16 innings. This landmark remains at an all-time high in the history of IPL as no one else has come close to breaking the record. The right-handed batter had an average of 81.08 and a strike rate of 152.03. In that season, Kohli made seven fifties and four hundreds. He was literally unstoppable with the bat. He took RCB to the finals, but unfortunately, lost to SRH by 8 runs.

Kohli did not have the best days with his form. But he turned it in the 2022 Asia Cup where he scored his maiden T20 Hundred against Afghanistan. The Delhi batter emerged as the second-highest run scorer in the multi-nation tournament behind Mohammad Rizwan. Kohli then carried this form to the 20-20 World Cup in Australia, where he was India’s best batter in the World Cup. His best innings came against Pakistan at the MCG, where he scored an unbeaten 82 to help India win.

Kohli also found his Test form against Australia in the BGT where he scored his 28th Test century after a three-year lull. Kohli is back to churning the big runs and he will hope that the purple patch continues for a long time to come. He will also look to try to continue to score big in the IPL so that he can bring the trophy home for RCB.
