India vs England Test series is scheduled to start in two days. The first Test is slated to take place in the city of Hyderabad. However, there are still some potential players who are being watched in the series where the India A side is up against the England Lions. We have already seen some great performances from talented players like KS Bharat and Rajat Patidar who were the standout performers in a 2-day practice match and the first unofficial Test match. This was a great platform to see if the talent could play the longest format as well as the white-ball format as well.

There is one player who we might not know for his performance in red-ball cricket, but still has that surprise factor whenever he comes out to bat. He is none other than the swashbuckling southpaw Rinku Singh who has already shown his ability in franchise cricket and the white ball formats for his nation. What we have to remember is that the 26-year-old finisher has great numbers in first-class cricket as well, where he has scored over 3000 runs in 44 matches at an average of over 57. This should be enough to get him a call-up to play some 5-day games as well.

Rinku to play for India A

The wishes seem to have come true as Rinku has been added to the squad for the 2nd Test as well which will take place at the Motera. This will certainly be a challenge for the young man who is known to be a naturally aggressive player in the format. We have seen in the past how some of these flamboyant players who are known to enjoy playing their shots are successful in the format as well. The likes of Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist are some of the examples of cricketers with an attacking mindset making a name for themselves in Test cricket.

Rinku is certainly having a great future ahead of him and has a lot of cricket left in him and we will be happy to see him perform in Test matches as well. The aggressive nature and the ability to finish games for his team are one of the factors that can help his side win big games. He has already shown his power in the great innings of the T20I and it will be interesting to see if he will have the same approach in Test cricket as well. The left-handed pocket dynamo is already a talked-about player, and we can’t wait to see him master this format as well.
