Asia Cup as a tournament pits the best of the talent with powerhouse teams like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Over the last decade likes of Bangladesh and Afghanistan have become an integral part of the tournament. Associate teams like Nepal, Hong Kong, and UAE have been part of the tournament. The Asia Cup is now in its 16th edition (two editions were played in T20 format). Here are five moments from Asia Cup history that will live in the hearts of fans forever.
Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar had hit his 99th international ton during the 2011 ODI World Cup. The then 38-year-old was under pressure to get to the mark of 100 international tons. The mark was achieved during the 2012 Asia Cup game against Bangladesh. Tendulkar scored 114 off 147 balls and the crowd stood up in unison to salute the master. The knock though couldn’t prevent India from losing the game by 5 wickets.
