The Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham have gotten underway from July 28th onwards, with the opening ceremony that took place and the games will go on till August 08. There are 280 events in 20 sports at this edition of the Games, including cricket. India enjoyed its best-ever medal haul in 2010 when New Delhi hosted the Games.
This time, with a 215-strong contingent, India has started off with a strong showing. On July 28th the opening ceremony was hosted and the events have begun from July 29 onwards and go on until August 07. The closing ceremony will be held on August 08. Both the opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Alexander Stadium.
The Indian women’s cricket team has lost its opening encounter against Australia. , but the blockbuster clash will take place on July 31 when India faces Pakistan at Edgbaston.
