The Punjab Kings and the Delhi Capitals locked horns at Dharamshala in their 2nd IPL 2023 clash. This was the first time an Indian Premier League game was held in the venue after a gap of 10 years. The coin went the way of PBKS, and they elected to bowl first. The big change for DC was that Prithvi Shaw was back in the side after a long layoff. David Warner made 46 off 31 balls with five fours and two sixes. He teed off straightaway and gave DC a fast start.
Warner was caught by Shikhar Dhawan off Sam Curran. Shaw made a superb 54 off 38 balls with seven fours and one six. This was a wonderful comeback game for him. In the course of his innings, he was hit on the finger when he was on 49. Then, he got to a half-century and was dismissed caught by Atharva Taide off Curran. This was the second wicket for the Englishmen. After Shaw departed, it was the Rilee Rossouw and Phil Salt show.
The South African tore the PBKS bowlers to shreds. He launched an assault and made a stunning unbeaten 82 off 37 balls with six fours and six sixes. Salt provided him good support and chipped in with a quickfire unbeaten 26 off 14 balls with two fours and two sixes. This allowed DC to finish on a great note and end their 20 overs on 213-2.
The pitch at Dharamshala was a good one to bat on. The mayhem continued in the second innings. Shikhar Dhawan fell for a first-ball duck to Ishant Sharma. Prabhsimran Singh made 22 off 19 balls with four fours. He was caught by Yash Dhull off Axar Patel. Atharva Taide kept finding boundaries and made a fine 50 off 38 to keep PBKS in the hunt, but he retired hurt. Liam Livingstone also made a counterattacking 94 off 45 balls with five fours and nine sixes, which breathed life into the game. He was finally dismissed by Ishant.
At the other end, Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan went quickly. Curran was dismissed for 11. Harpreet Brar was run out. In the end, DC held their nerve and won by 15 runs.

The baton has passed to the younger generation successfully.
Prabhsimran played the 1st over maiden in the chase of 214 just like what our powerplay star Sir KL used to do🫡🥵 #PBKSvDC pic.twitter.com/h1lYzkhBYz
