Arjun Tendulkar, a youthful all-around bowler for the Mumbai Indians and the son of the great former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar, recently made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut with the Mumbai Indians in the current season of the lucrative franchise cricket league against Kolkata Knight Riders. He has since participated in four games for the five-time champions.
Arjun has taken three wickets so far. In his most recent IPL match against the Gujarat Titans, he bowled brilliantly and took a wicket while only allowing 9 runs in two overs. However, his pace has also been a major source of debate among cricket analysts and fans on numerous forums.
In the meantime, Tendulkar Jr.’s pace may be increased in the remaining stages of the competition, according to Mumbai Indians bowling coach and former illustrious New Zealand pacer Shane Bond. “He did well today, obviously after what happened in the last game. It’s never easy to step out onto the ground that is a Colosseum with a big crowd. We will work on increasing his pace, but he did all that was asked of him today,” said Bond after MI’ 55-run defeat against GT in the last match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
“It’s a combination of things. We’re not executing what we need to. We’ve got pretty simple plans. Watch how we bowled in an area. We got hit and immediately resorted to some changes. It’s disappointing when we can’t distinguish plans when we are on the back foot during difficult run chases,” he further added.
Although a portion of Indian cricket fans saw this statement from the MI bowling coach as an opportunity, they quickly turned to Twitter to come up with some trolling remarks and reactions for Arjun Tendulkar. Mumbai Indians are currently in the seventh position on the IPL 2023 points table with six points from seven games.
Not a clean run-up. Seems like a average player..
