There were some changes in the central contracts list in the Indian T20 League. Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma continued to hold A+ contracts. Ravindra Jadeja is the new entrant on the list. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel have also moved up to Grade A from B and C, respectively. The duo have helped India win many matches. Axar has been turning games with both bat and ball.
Pandya has also led the T20I side to series wins against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. The other notable demotion has been KL Rahul. The Karnataka batter has been demoted from A to B. Rahul recently lost his spot in the Test side to Shubman Gill. The right-handed batter was also reportedly removed as the vice-captain of the Indian Test side after not being able to churn out match-winning performances for the national side.
Rahul recently got married to Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty. The 30-year-old had also visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain with his wife. Rahul has not been in the best of form. He will be using the Indian T20 League as a launching pad to get back into form. Rahul has made 3889 runs in the tournament at an average of 48.01 and at a strike rate of 136.21. The 30-year-old jas made four hundreds and 31 fifties in the league.
When it comes to other notable announcements in the central contracts, Sanju Samson, KS Bharat and Arshdeep Singh were the new entrants to Grade C. Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill moved up from Grade C to B. Shardul Thakur has moved downwards from B to C. Ishant Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, who had Grade B contracts, now no longer possess contracts.
Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha, Mayank Agarwal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar don’t have contracts. An A+ contract is worth INR 7 crore, A is INR 5 crore, B is INR 3 crore, and C is INR 1 crore. The Indian players will now play in the Indian T20 League which will start on March 31.

A strong comeback from KL is never going to be easy. In Tests he may get at best a couple of opportunities but he will eventually become only a white ball player.

Unless he plays fearlessly, there is NO HOPE.

He will come back strong in IPL and then fail all year. Rinse and repeat.

He is in a tricky situation… If he scores, he will be tagged as a IPL-only star, if he doesn't score, he will be termed as a goner!

He also has decent stats in T20I and test as well…Name one player who consistently plays well as an opener??
Only Sehwag was good as openerKL is much better than Flat pitch merchants Gill, Ishan….
Don't forget his outstanding century at Lords🔥🔥— Rajesh Subramanian (@RajeshS92317867) March 27, 2023
he will never come back that easily. it needs dedication .. he lost his spot because of this arrogance and attitude towards the game.. he should go back to Ranaji and play his game the way he used to play when he was in his 20s.
