India and Australia squared off against each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India won the toss and chose to bowl. The Wankhede wicket has traditionally been good for batting and assisted the fast bowlers due to good bounce on the surface. This has been a trait of the red soil wicket there. It has been a high scoring ground.
The ODI series will be played just before the start of the Indian T20 League. This will be the last series that India will play as a side. They will break away for two months. because of the Indian T20 League. In a big surprise, was the presence of Kollywood star Rajinikanth who was watching the game at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Sanju Samson revealed that he had been a die-hard Rajinikanth fan since the age of 7
Rajinikanth had recently met Indian cricketer Sanju Samson. Samson had put out a picture with the actor on social media. He had revealed that he was a die hard Rajini fan and wanted to meet the actor from a long time. Samson stated that he was Rajini fan since the age of 7. When the cherished moment happened on March 12, Samson was over the moon.
“At the age of 7 already being a Super Rajni fan,,I told my parents ..See one day I will go and meet Rajni sir in his house… After 21 years, that day has come when The Thalaivar invited me,” The Kerala cricketer wrote on Twitter. Samson revealed that he spent his lockdown days watching movies of Rajinikanth. He said he meditated and also read Steve Waugh’s book. Samson was not named in India’s squad against Australia.
Samson’s next assignment will be with Rajasthan in the Indian T20 League which starts on March 31. Rajasthan will have two home grounds this year. One will be the Sawai Man Singh Stadium at Jaipur. The other stadium will be Guwahati’s ACA Stadium which will be a second home ground this year.
