Adidas, a big leading apparel and sports brand is close to securing the apparel rights of the Indian Cricket Team. Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited, which is the parent brand company of Killer Jeans currently owns the rights. The deal with Adidas is expected to begin in June this year and will go on till March 2028.
Killer Jeans was seen as a stop-gap arrangement since Mobile Premier League (MPL)pulled out of the deal without completing the full cycle. Killer Jeans does not have any sports or cricket-related background. The Indian Cricket Board would have been very keen to get a big sports brand on board like the times when Nike sponsored the apparel rights of the Indian Cricket Team.
Before MPL stepped in to take the apparel rights of the Indian Cricket Team, A five-year deal was signed jointly by Nike and the Indian Cricket Team which was for five years. From 2016 to 2020 Nike paid 370 crores INR. MPL had put the dotted line with the Indian Cricket Board for three years from 2020 to 2023 but the cycle was not complete.
MPL is a sports company and Killer Jeans is an apparel brand, so a leading sports brand has not joined hands with the Indian Cricket Board since Nike’s departure. The Indian Team have not been able to win a World event since 2013. The Team crashed out of the semi-finals in the 20-20 World Cup in Australia to England.
The Indian Team is currently playing a Test series at home against Australia where it is leading 2-0 after a commanding win by an innings and 123 runs in Nagpur and also a six-wicket win in Delhi. India have retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as a result and have also been victorious in the last three editions, one of which was held in India and two of which were held in Australia. If India wins this Test series by a 3-0 or 3-1 margin, then they will seal a place in Test Championship final.

No one can beat the feel that “SAHARA” gave on Indian gersey. वो सिर्फ SAHARA नही था बल्कि इमोशंस था,एक सुकून था।
अभी तो आए दिन स्पॉन्सर चेंज हो रहें है।
कोई फीलिंग ही नही आती tshirt के साथ।☹️— Alok Gupta (@Alok59250503) February 21, 2023
Great!! Can’t wait to buy the replica jersey! Also I hope it should be a better designed one unlike the current ones. Didn’t get to see anything worthy after @Nike left in 2016

Not great news as for the fans – the price will go up for these jerseys significantly. It was reasonably priced during MPL days

The Nike period was too good , we saw classic kits and then came the crap era of MPL . Finally a good recovery to get Adidas as kit sponsor
