“Sabke sab jokers”- Fans react as Ramiz Raja says that Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet is prepared by NASA scientists

Pakistan players have been on a streak of controversial statements.

In a recent video that has sparked widespread amusement online, former Pakistani cricket player Ramiz Raja made an outlandish claim that Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet is meticulously planned by NASA scientists. This eyebrow-raising statement was made during a segment where Raja advocated for enhanced professionalism in the sport of cricket, which he believes has evolved significantly over time. Using football as an example, he drew a parallel to Ronaldo’s dietary regimen.

Ramiz Raja’s assertion has ignited a wave of online mockery, turning him into a target of public ridicule. He joins a growing list of former Pakistani cricketers, including Ahsan Raza and Abdul Razzaq, who have faced online backlash for their insensitive and unfounded remarks.

During the recent World Cup, Raza made a preposterous claim that Indian bowlers were using a special set of balls engineered to enhance swing and seam movement. His outlandish assertion drew widespread criticism, including from his countryman, Wasim Akram. Akram expressed his disapproval, stating that such baseless accusations tarnish the reputation of the entire nation. Indian pacer Mohammed Shami also slammed Raza on social media.

Abdul Razzaq comes up with another controversial statement

Razzaq on the other hand, made a derogatory comment about Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, inviting the furore of people all around the world. It also prompted a rebuke from Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi. He subsequently issued an apology, but the sincerity of his remorse remains questionable amidst public scrutiny.

Coming back to Raja, he represented Pakistan in 198 ODIs and 57 Tests over an international career that spanned more than 13 years. Throughout his illustrious career, he amassed an impressive 8,674 runs, including 11 centuries and 53 half-centuries. His administrative contributions include serving as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board from September 2021 to December 2022. He was relieved of his duties in December 2022. During the World Cup, he provided commentary and is anticipated to continue doing so in the future.
