India are likely to be without the services of Jasprit Bumrah for the final two Tests as well. Reports from the Telegraph stated as it would be very risky, and it would not be the right choice to rush him in a World Cup year. In a series where spin will be the dominating factor, Bumrah has been given additional time to recover as he would not be able to bear the workload of a Test match at present.
Sources from the Indian Cricket Board have said that Bumrah has been bowling at full tilt where he has been doing rehabilitation which started in September 2022. A decision will be made in due course on whether Bumrah will be eligible to play in the upcoming ODI series against Australia.
He confronted the back injury during the West Indies tour in 2022 in August. He then returned in September to play the T20I series against Australia. But the injury worsened. He missed the series against South Africa shortly after and also missed the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. He was initially named in the squad against Sri Lanka for the ODIs but had issues again with his back and was sidelined.
He did not play the ODI series and the T20I series against New Zealand and also was set to be sidelined for the first two matches of the Australia Test series. India gave a good account of themselves in the first Test against Australia as they bundled the visitors out for 177 with Ravindra Jadeja picking up 5-47 in his 22-over spell.
Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 3-42 in his 15-over spell. At the end of Day 1, India were 77-1 with Rohit Sharma unbeaten on 56. The first Test was held in Nagpur at the VCA stadium. Steve Smith scored 37 off 107 balls with seven fours and Marnus Labuschagne scored 49 off 123 balls with eight fours. They were the two best batters for the Aussies.

Just because we have other great pacers doesn't mean that Jasprit Bumrah is not a huge loss even in India, he is our best bowler in all 3 formats & if he was fit he would have been our first choice pacer so we'll be without 3 players who were going to be a part of the playing 11.

Jasprit Bumrah will be set to miss all world cup matches too as it can be risky to rush him in the odd year of IPL.

In fact playing Bumarah in World Cup is more than RISK now. Without sufficient match practice how he could play in big tournament. As it would be utter injustice to current set fast bowler’s who has in great rhythm. #jaspritbumrah

It is obvious you don't need Jasprit Bumrah for a home test series with Ashwin, Jadeja enough for opponents and even Umesh Yadav not getting chances in playing 11 but if Jasprit misses this test series people will react as if we badly need Boom in 11.

No need of Jasprit Bumrah. We have enough and more talented bowlers.

Jasprit Bumrah should take retirement and play IPL as much as he can 🤡🤡

I think it's time for Jasprit Bumrah to retire now. He is a very good bowler but we don't need him to be fit for a specific series or a world event and then again get unfit. Bowlers like him and Deepak Chahar who r constant injury prone should take VRS…
