is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. He is a major champion, having won the 2003 US Open. Roddick reached four other major finals Wimbledon in 2004, 2005, and 2009, and the US Open in 2006, he lost to longtime rival Roger Federer each time. Roddick was ranked in the year-end top 10 for nine consecutive years from 2002–2010 and won five masters’ titles in that period.
He was also a crucial player in the U.S. Davis Cup team’s successful run to the title in 2007.

Roddick retired from professional tennis following the 2012 US Open to focus on his work at the Andy Roddick Foundation. Roddick’s serve was known for its power, usually traveling at around 130–150 mph and often unreturnable. He once held the record for fastest serve at 155 mph 249.4 km/h. Roddick’s favorite shot is his off-forehand.
