The next opponent to feel the heat of the Indian bowling unit was Sri Lanka in the 1984 Asia Cup. In the inaugural edition of the Asia Cup, Sri Lanka played against India in Sharjah and batting first, they were bowled out for 96 runs in 41 overs. Chetan Sharma and Madan Lal, who took three wickets each, were the pick of the bowlers for Team India. The Men in Blue chased down the paltry total in just 21.4 overs with 10 wickets in hand.
