The Asia Cup 2023 final turned out to be one-sided as India extended their dominance with a 10-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Colombo on Sunday. The Men in Blue cemented their tag as the most successful Asian team with their eighth title. Batting first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 50 runs in 15.2 overs on the back of Mohammed Siraj’s deadly six-wicket performance.

India chased down the paltry total with 263 balls remaining and registered their biggest ODI win in terms of balls remaining. But is this the lowest total in ODI Asia Cup history? Let’s turn the pages of history books.

5. Bangladesh – 99 (1988)

Batting first at the M.A.Aziz Stadium in Chattogram on 27 October 1988, Bangladesh managed just 99 runs in 45 overs against India. A three-wicket haul from Arshad Ayub and one wicket each from the rest of the bowling attack gave the home team a worst record. In reply, the in Blue won the match by nine wickets with 24 overs to spare with Navjot Singh Sidhu scoring an unbeaten half-century.
