It was the first match of the Pepsi Triangular Series 1998 between India and Australia in Kochi. On a flat deck, India batted first and posted a mammoth total of 309 runs in their 50 overs. Tendulkar did not have a great day with the bat, as he scored only 8 runs in 11 balls. But Sachin got a second opportunity to perform for the team. The multi-skilled cricketer grabbed it with both hands.
Chasing the target, Australia was going well with 142/2 at one stage. That was when Tendulkar ran through the batting lineup of Australia. The star cricketer claimed 5 wickets and conceded only 32 runs in his 10-over spell including a maiden over. Sachin dismissed the likes of Michael Bevan, Steve Waugh, Darren Lehmann, Tom Moody, and Damien Martyn. Tendulkar won the Player of the Match award for his bowling spell.
