3 Batters who can score most number of runs in the Zimbabwe series

After facing West Indies in the ongoing T20I series, India will be up against Zimbabwe for three ODIs. A second-string Indian team will tour Zimbabwe and Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the side. Also, VVS Laxman has been appointed as the head coach of the team for the tour.

The squad features a total of three new names from the one that recently played in the West Indies. The likes of Kuldeep Yadav and Deepak Chahar mark their return after recuperating from injury, while Washington Sundar has also been added to the squad. The batting unit consists of the likes of Dhawan, Gill, Gaikwad, Tripathi, etc.

1. Shikar Dhawan- 

 

The southpaw took on the mantle of leading the side in the ODI leg on the tour of West Indies and showed great form in the series. In the absence of senior players, he will, once again, lead the Indian team. He will play all the games and is likely to score the most number of runs as he would open the innings for the team. 

Dhawan has been consistently scoring runs in the format and needs to score in the same vein if he wants to find a place in India’s 2023 World Cup squad. He has scored a total of 168 runs in the ODI series against West Indies and will look to add more in the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.
